Alex and his crew worked their magic and really came through for us. I have a friend recovering from a some health concerns and was not going to be able to return home in the condition it was in. They worked with our budget, and were prompt, friendly and professional. They certainly went above and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. BIG THANKS to Alex!Posted on Google![]()

Junk Father was one of three places I contacted. They were by far the best priced and easiest to work with. They ask what items were being moved and gave me a quote based on that. Other companies wanted pictures and more details. Alex was great communication and very very fast and moving the things out. I would definitely recommend Alex and his team to anyone who needs furniture or items removed.Posted on Google![]()

Choose the junk removal service that fits your job
You don’t need a whole-house cleanout to call us. Start with the items you want gone, or show us the whole mixed pile so we can put one clear quote together. The furniture doesn’t have to leave with a full truck.
General junk removal
One bulky item, moving boxes, packing materials, bagged household trash or a little of everything. We handle the lifting, loading and haul-away; tell us what stays and what goes.
Furniture removal
Sofas, chairs, tables, dressers and other unwanted furniture. One piece or a roomful, our crew handles the lifting from inside, or an outdoor pickup arranged with you.
Appliance removal
Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and larger commercial appliances. We handle removal and hauling after the necessary preparation and disconnection. The old appliance has had its turn.
Mattress removal
A single mattress, box springs or a bigger pickup for a rental or hotel. Our mattress-removal page covers everyday pickups and the hotel project where we removed more than 100 mattresses.
Piano removal
Unwanted upright, baby grand, grand and larger pianos. Show us the piano and tell us what needs to go so we can plan the handling, loading and haul-away for your job.
Yard debris removal
Brush, cut branches, wood piles, and gathered yard waste. We handle the loading and haul-away so the cleanup doesn’t end with a new pile on your to-do list.
Dumpster overflow cleanup
Extra bags, cardboard and loose trash removed from overflowing dumpster areas. We haul away the agreed excess and leave the container in place. Show us what needs to go and when you need the space back.
Pallet removal
One pallet left after a home delivery or a larger stack at a business. We handle the lifting, loading and haul-away, with repeat pickups arranged when needed.
Cardboard removal
Moving boxes, holiday deliveries, and piles of packing cardboard can add up fast. We load and haul away the boxes, even when the rain has left them soaked and heavy.
Construction debris removal
Loose carpet, padding, lumber, trim, drywall and other non-hazardous project leftovers. The teardown may be your project; the dump runs don’t have to be.

Before & after: three different piles, one less job for the customer
General junk removal rarely looks the same twice. These are three of our actual pickups: moving debris, unwanted contents after a small basement flood, and leftovers from a DIY remodel.
Moving-box pickup: the move was over. The boxes stayed.
Unpacking is enough of a project without giving the empty boxes permanent deck privileges. This customer had a pile of cardboard, packing materials, and bags left after moving in.
We loaded and hauled away the moving debris. The after photo shows the deck without that pile, so the leftover packaging was no longer another project waiting outside.

Basement cleanout after a small flood
After a small basement flood, this customer had unwanted contents that needed hauling away. Our part was getting those items removed so the homeowner could move on to the next step.
These before-and-after photos show the outdoor pickup area under the deck. We hauled away the selected items and left the remaining belongings in place.

DIY remodel debris, without one more DIY job
The remodel was done. The debris wasn’t. Carpet rolls, padding, wood, and other leftovers from a DIY project were still piled outside.
Our crew loaded and hauled away the unwanted materials, leaving that section of the paved area clear. No trailer to borrow. No turning the end of a home improvement project into a new weekend of dump runs.
BEFORE PICKUP

Carpet, padding, wood, and other remodeling leftovers.
AFTER PICKUP

The debris pile is gone from the paved area.
How much does junk removal cost in Knoxville?
An offer you can understand before anything leaves.
Our minimum pickup charge is $150. A typical three-person, non-reclining couch on the ground floor is an example of a pickup at that starting price. Reclining couches, stairs, extra items, or additional handling can change the quote.
Residential jobs typically run around $150–$600, but pricing varies widely with what needs hauling and the work involved. That range is a guide, not a fixed quote or a $600 maximum; larger or more involved jobs can cost more.
Need a price for your actual pickup? Call 865-855-5865 or text photos of the items with your city or ZIP code. We’ll talk through the job before you commit.
Moving boxes and packing material: the amount to load and whether it is loose, flattened, or mixed with other items affect the job. The moving-box pickup above shows this kind of haul-away.
Remodeling leftovers: carpet, padding, lumber, and heavier debris can need different loading and disposal arrangements than a similar-sized pile of packaging. The DIY-remodel project above is an example of that work.
We consider the amount and type of material, heavy items, loading work, any dismantling or sorting you want included, and disposal needs. You don’t need to work out the truck space or calculate the labor. Send photos and we’ll explain the price.
Photos can get an estimate started. Some jobs need an in-person look before we confirm the total. Either way, you approve the price before work begins.
When a job needs a separate quote
Two piles can take up similar space and still be very different jobs. Pianos need their own handling plan; dense construction debris brings different weight and disposal needs. A structure that needs dismantling before removal is not the same job as loading loose items.
For larger property cleanouts or sorting-intensive hoarding cleanouts, we agree on the areas, what stays, and the help included before work starts. Hoarding cleanouts are debris removal, not deep cleaning, pest treatment, or biohazard remediation.
Send photos of everything you want removed, your city or ZIP code, and your preferred timing. Mention stairs, unusually heavy items, dismantling, or known contamination. You do not need to move heavy items outside or calculate a truckload to get a quote. Have furniture or appliances to add? Include them in the same request so the price reflects the whole job.
Upfront pricing. No hidden fees.
Your quote covers the lifting, loading, hauling, and disposal of the items we agree to remove. Show us extra items while we’re putting the quote together. If additional paid work is needed later, we discuss it with you and get your approval first.
How our junk pickup works
01 / Show us what needs to go.
Call, text a few photos of the items, or request a quote online. Include your city or ZIP code and preferred date. Need help deciding what the job includes? We can talk it through.
02 / Agree on the job and price.
We’ll confirm what we’re taking, explain your quote, and discuss the available pickup times. You decide whether to go ahead. There shouldn’t be a plot twist when the bill arrives.
03 / Let the crew take care of it.
Point out what goes and what stays. We handle the lifting, loading, and haul-away. You get to cross the job off your list without borrowing a truck or recruiting your friends.
A local business with a lot riding on its name
Alex started The JunkFather while attending Pellissippi Community College, with an old truck and the hope of covering some school expenses. Customers who gave us a chance helped turn it into the business it is today.
We haven’t forgotten that. When you call, you deserve a straightforward conversation, a clear price, and a crew that respects your property. The theme is playful. Earning your recommendation is something we take seriously.
Knoxville junk removal questions, answered
Yes. You can request a pickup for one sofa, mattress, table, or other bulky item. Send a photo and your location for a quote. The job doesn’t have to be big to be worth getting off your list.
No. Our full-service pickup includes removing the agreed items from inside or outside your home. You don’t have to carry heavy furniture to the curb before calling. Tell us what you’re keeping and leave the lifting to the crew.
No. We can discuss loose items, bags, and unflattened moving boxes as part of the quote. Show us the pile as it is, and identify anything you want to keep. Sorting or extra preparation you need help with can be included in the conversation.
Call or text and we’ll check the next available appointment for your location and job. Need it today or have a move-out deadline? Say so when you contact us. We’ll tell you what’s available rather than promise a pickup time we haven’t confirmed.
Yes. General junk removal can cover a mix of unwanted items in the same pickup. Show us everything you want removed, including any heavy materials or unusual items, so the quote covers the job you actually need.
We can discuss hauling unwanted contents and debris after a small flood, as shown in the project above. This is debris removal, not water extraction, structural drying, mold remediation, or restoration. Tell us about standing water, sewage, mold, or other contamination before scheduling so we can confirm whether the removal is suitable.
Yes. Tell us about paint, chemicals, batteries, tires, appliances, or potentially contaminated materials when you request a quote. Acceptance, handling, and disposal costs vary by item. Don’t mix unknown liquids or suspected hazardous materials into an ordinary junk pile; we’ll explain what we can take and what needs another disposal option.
No. This service is a scheduled, full-service junk pickup: our crew loads and hauls away the agreed items. You aren’t renting a container to fill yourself, and this isn’t a recurring municipal trash collection. Quotes are free; the removal itself is a paid service.
Yes, with the appropriate authorization. You must have permission to dispose of the items, and we need clear instructions about what goes and what stays. Tell us who will approve the work and any property-management arrangements when requesting the quote.
Tell us about the full project. We also offer estate cleanouts and hoarding cleanouts, with the extra coordination those jobs need. An unwanted structure is a different kind of removal: our shed removal and hot tub removal pages explain those services.
Junk removal in Knoxville and nearby communities
We serve Knoxville and nearby East Tennessee communities, including Farragut, Powell, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Lenoir City, Tellico Village, Kingston, Harriman, and Rockwood. Our service-area directory brings the local pages together.
Send your city or ZIP code with the photos of your items. We’ll confirm service at your location and discuss the next available pickup. You don’t need to figure out which service category your pile belongs in before contacting us.
That pile has had enough extensions.
Let The JunkFather help you get it handled. Send a few photos of what you’d like removed, your city or ZIP code, and your preferred date. We’ll talk through the pickup and give you a clear price.
No need to borrow a truck, round up help, or make one more promise to do it next weekend.
Requesting a quote doesn’t commit you to a pickup or a purchase.
