Alex and his crew worked their magic and really came through for us. I have a friend recovering from a some health concerns and was not going to be able to return home in the condition it was in. They worked with our budget, and were prompt, friendly and professional. They certainly went above and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. BIG THANKS to Alex!

Junk Father was one of three places I contacted. They were by far the best priced and easiest to work with. They ask what items were being moved and gave me a quote based on that. Other companies wanted pictures and more details. Alex was great communication and very very fast and moving the things out. I would definitely recommend Alex and his team to anyone who needs furniture or items removed.

Built-in grill removal is more than a barbecue pickup

A freestanding barbecue can leave as one appliance. A built-in grill island brings its counters, cabinets, and heavy surround to the farewell. That’s a dismantling job, not simply a lift into the truck.

We remove built-in outdoor kitchen and BBQ-island structures, including the unwanted grill, veneer, countertop sections, and supporting cabinet framing included in your quote. Tell us what you want removed and what you’re keeping. The deck, railing, and nearby finishes deserve attention, too.

This is one of our light demolition services. The project below shows how we handled a large grill island where protecting the home mattered as much as getting the old structure out.

A REAL OUTDOOR KITCHEN DEMOLITION

New home. Fresh finishes. One old grill with an exit plan.

The homeowner had just moved in and had the deck and interior flooring freshly done. The large, heavy built-in grill on the back deck needed to go, and the debris had to travel through the house.

That made this a job for careful dismantling, not a contest to see who could swing hardest. The old grill needed to leave. The new finishes didn’t need a souvenir.

01 / More than the grill itself

Built-in grill island on the deck during early dismantling

Early dismantling: the grill, counters, and much of the surround were still in place. This wasn’t a barbecue on wheels; it was a built-in outdoor kitchen with masonry veneer and a wooden frame. Removing the whole setup meant taking it apart in sections.

02 / Blankets down. Careful cuts.

Built-in grill island partly dismantled with exposed wood framing and moving blankets protecting the deck

We used thick moving blankets to catch the brick veneer as it came off. Then we carefully cut the remaining wooden framing, keeping the work clear of the deck boards. The plan was to dismantle the island, not leave our mark on the deck.

03 / Every piece carried through by hand

Dismantled grill-island framing and debris gathered on moving blankets before being carried away from the deck

Demolition complete, hauling still underway: the island was down, but the job wasn’t finished. We carried all the debris by hand through the house. The new interior flooring mattered just as much as the fresh deck, so the careful handling continued all the way out.

04 / The deck got the last word

Open deck after the outdoor kitchen and demolition debris were removed

The grill island and debris were gone, and the deck space was open again. On this job, we left no scratches or scuffs on the deck or interior flooring. The homeowner got the space back without a new repair project.

That’s the result of hiring the family that cares: attention to what stays, not just enthusiasm for what goes.

How outdoor kitchen removal works

Show us what’s going. Send photos of the grill island or outdoor kitchen, your city or ZIP code, and preferred timing. Tell us which parts you want to keep.

Agree on the job and price. We discuss the dismantling, surrounding surfaces, any necessary utility preparation, and haul-away. You approve the price before work starts.

Leave the teardown to us. Our crew handles the dismantling, loading, and removal. Your old outdoor kitchen doesn’t get to live on as a pile of rubble beside the new plans.

How much does outdoor kitchen demolition cost?

A clear offer before the first piece comes off.

A compact grill surround is a different job from a long island with heavy counters and masonry. Size, materials, dismantling, surface protection, carrying, and disposal needs all help determine your quote.

Upfront pricing. No hidden fees. Photos help us start an estimate; some built-in structures need an in-person look before we confirm the total. We’ll explain the work and what’s included before you approve the price.

Have other items that should leave with the island? Mention them while we’re quoting so we can price the whole job. Any additional paid work is discussed and approved before it’s added.

Getting ready for the crew

Remove cooking supplies and personal items you’re keeping, and tell us about any known damage, recent finishes, or connections. You do not need to start taking the island apart yourself.

Gas, hardwired electrical, water, or other service connections involved must be made safe by the appropriate qualified professional before demolition. The JunkFather does not perform electrical work. Tell us about suspected hazardous materials or attachments to the building so preparation and the limits of the removal can be confirmed.

Questions about built-in grill removal

Yes. We handle the dismantling and haul-away of the grill island, including the counters, cabinet framing, and veneer agreed in your quote. Let us know whether the grill itself is going or being kept. The structure and appliance do not have to share the same retirement plan.

We plan the dismantling around the surfaces staying in place. On the featured job, thick moving blankets caught the brick veneer, the wooden framing was cut carefully clear of the deck, and all debris was carried by hand through the house. Tell us about recent deck or flooring work so it is included in the plan.

No. Dismantling, loading, and hauling are our part of the job. In this project, our crew carried the debris through the house. You do not need to take apart the island or move heavy pieces before contacting us.

Yes. Removing a grill island does not automatically mean removing the deck or railing. In the project shown here, the deck, nearby wall, and railing remained. We confirm what comes out and what stays before starting; changes to the home’s load-bearing structure are not part of this service.

Utility connections must be made safe before demolition by the appropriate qualified professional. The JunkFather does not perform electrical work. Tell us what is connected when we discuss your removal so the necessary preparation can be arranged before the teardown.

Call or text photos, your city or ZIP code, and your preferred date. We’ll confirm the next workable appointment and any preparation needed. Have other demolition work in mind? Our light demolition page shows additional projects we handle.

Keep the backyard plans. Delegate the heavy goodbye.

Whether you’re making room for something new or simply want the old island gone, start with photos of the setup, your city or ZIP code, and your preferred timing. We serve Knoxville and nearby East Tennessee communities.

Explore our light demolition services for sheds, outdoor brick features, and other targeted removals, or check our service areas. You choose the next chapter for the space. We’ll handle the part that needs a truck.

Requesting a quote does not book a pickup or commit you to a purchase.
