Alex and his crew worked their magic and really came through for us. I have a friend recovering from a some health concerns and was not going to be able to return home in the condition it was in. They worked with our budget, and were prompt, friendly and professional. They certainly went above and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. BIG THANKS to Alex!Posted on Google![]()

Junk Father was one of three places I contacted. They were by far the best priced and easiest to work with. They ask what items were being moved and gave me a quote based on that. Other companies wanted pictures and more details. Alex was great communication and very very fast and moving the things out. I would definitely recommend Alex and his team to anyone who needs furniture or items removed.Posted on Google![]()

A cleanout doesn't have to mean an empty home
Keep the chair you use every day, the photographs, and the belongings you still want. Our job is to remove the items you have chosen to let go of, not decide which things should matter to you.
Furniture that won't fit
A sofa that won’t fit, a spare bed, or a dining set you no longer need can be removed without clearing everything else. One piece is enough to arrange a pickup.
Selected rooms or storage areas
Start with the spare room, part of the garage, or unwanted items in storage. You can reduce belongings while leaving the rest of your home and the keepers in place.
Sorting help agreed in advance
Ask about help separating keepers, setting undecided items aside, and gathering approved items for removal. We agree on the work and sorting time included in your quote.
Anything undecided stays out of the removal load until you or the authorized decision-maker approve it. Labels or separate areas can help everyone work from the same keep-and-remove list.
A REAL FURNITURE-REDUCTION PICKUP / OAK RIDGE
The apartment had room for less furniture
One Oak Ridge customer was moving into a new apartment with more furniture than it could accommodate. Some items were excess; others had been damaged by the movers.
He chose the items that weren’t staying, including the mattress and moving leftovers shown in the garage. We removed the agreed contents and handled the loading and haul-away so he could get on with settling in.
The job was to remove what no longer worked for him, not empty his entire home. It is a practical example of reducing a furniture collection around a move.

Before pickup: the mattress, boxes, and unwanted items waiting in the garage.

After removal: the agreed contents are gone. The garage floor and fixtures remain as they were; this was removal, not deep cleaning.
A clear plan for you and the person helping you
You can book directly or have an authorized family member help arrange the pickup. We agree on who can approve the removal list and quote, what must stay, and who to contact with questions.
Helping a parent or relative from another city? Arrange access and the keep-and-remove decisions before the visit. Tell us how you would like completion confirmed, and we’ll agree on the practical arrangements. A relative organizing the appointment still needs permission to dispose of the belongings.
Your choices remain at the center of the work. Belongings you are not ready to decide about can stay for another time. We plan the agreed sorting and removal around the decisions that have been made.
How your downsizing pickup works
1. Show us what you have in mind. Send photos of the items, your city or ZIP code, and preferred timing. Explain what stays, what may go, and any sorting help you need.
2. Agree on the scope, time, and price. We discuss the removal list, sorting tasks, access, and an available appointment. You approve the quote before work begins.
3. Let the crew handle the lifting. We carry out the agreed sorting assistance and remove, load, and haul away the approved items. Furniture you are keeping stays out of the load.
Price the work you actually need
Upfront pricing. No hidden fees. Your quote reflects the amount, size and weight of the items, sorting time, dismantling, labor, disposal, and difficult conditions such as stairs. A single dresser and a room that needs sorting first are different jobs.
Photos help us start an estimate; some jobs need an on-site look before the total can be confirmed. We explain what the quoted work includes, including any agreed sorting assistance. Additional items, sorting time, or return visits are discussed and priced before you approve them.
We pursue donation when it is possible and feasible. Condition and the receiving organization’s acceptance requirements matter, so not every item can be promised a donation destination. This service is unwanted-item removal, not packing, moving your keepers to another home, deep cleaning, or a complete home-organizing service.
Before we arrive
Set aside documents, medication, keys, valuables, and anything that must stay. Check drawers and boxes before marking them for removal. You do not need to carry heavy furniture outside or climb into stored belongings to prepare for us.
Tell us about stairs, access restrictions, or unsafe conditions while arranging the job. Flag chemicals, fuel, paint, or unusual materials before booking. Any necessary gas, water, or hardwired electrical disconnection must be completed before connected equipment is removed. The JunkFather does not perform electrical work.
Questions about downsizing and senior cleanouts
Can we keep some items in the room?
Yes. We can remove selected items and leave the rest in place. Agree on what stays and what goes before loading begins. Anything still undecided is left out of the removal load until the authorized person approves it.
Can a family member arrange the pickup?
Yes, with authorization from the owner or the person entitled to make the removal decisions. We confirm who approves the item list and price, how access will work, and who our contact will be. Being a family member does not replace permission to dispose of someone else’s belongings.
What sorting help can be included?
We can discuss separating keepers, setting undecided items aside, and gathering items approved for removal. Describe the help needed when requesting a quote so we can allow for the work and time. Sorting assistance is agreed in advance, not an unlimited organizing service.
Do we have to empty the whole home or finish everything in one visit?
No. You can book a selected room, storage area, or a few pieces and leave other decisions for later. The quote covers the agreed work. Any later pickup or additional sorting is arranged and priced separately before you approve it; multiple visits are not automatically included.
Will you donate the furniture we no longer need?
We look for practical donation opportunities when condition, acceptance, and the job arrangements allow. Donation is not guaranteed for every item. Tell us about anything with useful life left when we discuss the removal list.
Do I need to move heavy items outside?
No. Leave the heavy lifting to us. Tell us where the items are and mention stairs or access limits when arranging the quote. Outdoor pickup can be arranged, but moving furniture to the curb is not required.
Can you move the belongings we're keeping to the next home?
No. This service covers agreed sorting help and removal of unwanted items. Packing, transporting your keepers to a new home, deep cleaning, and repairs are not included. We can discuss how our pickup fits around your separately arranged move, subject to availability.
