Alex and his crew worked their magic and really came through for us. I have a friend recovering from a some health concerns and was not going to be able to return home in the condition it was in. They worked with our budget, and were prompt, friendly and professional. They certainly went above and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. BIG THANKS to Alex!

Junk Father was one of three places I contacted. They were by far the best priced and easiest to work with. They ask what items were being moved and gave me a quote based on that. Other companies wanted pictures and more details. Alex was great communication and very very fast and moving the things out. I would definitely recommend Alex and his team to anyone who needs furniture or items removed.

A piano deserves a proper exit.

A piano can hold years of memories. It can also hold up an entire room rearrangement. Whether you’re downsizing, clearing a property, or simply ready for more space, we’ll help you work out the removal without turning it into a family lifting contest.

Our crew handles the lifting, loading, and haul-away—whether it’s an upright, baby grand, full-size grand, or something even larger. We look at the piano and the route through your home so the plan fits the job, not the other way around. Stairs, tight turns, and the distance to our truck help us work out what’s needed before we arrive.

Have a bench or other unwanted furniture that should go too? Show us while we’re preparing the quote. You bring the list; we’ll talk through the heavy work.

Piano out. Possibilities in.

This upright had a spot of its own. Our crew removed it, opening up the corner you see below. Same room, same hardwood floor, one less heavy item deciding where everything else can go.

The hard part is getting it out. The fun part is deciding what to do with the space. We’ll leave that decision with the boss: you.

CHURCH STORAGE-UNIT CLEANOUT

Three pianos, heavy pews, and a call to the family.

A church had been paying for a U-Haul storage unit filled with instruments and pews they weren’t using. They were ready to clear it out and stop paying for space they no longer needed.

The contents weren’t exactly a few folding chairs. Three pianos and some seriously heavy church pews needed to go.

On this job, we arrived the same day and handled the cleanout, getting the bulky items loaded and out of storage.

A truck full of heavy lifting—and a crew still smiling. That’s how we like to wrap things up.

Have one piano to remove, or a bigger cleanout on your hands? Tell us what needs to go, and we’ll put together an upfront quote.

A PIANO DONATION TO KARM

This piano had an encore.

Not every piano removal has to be the final curtain. After one successful removal, we delivered a piano to KARM for donation. The photo shows our crew at the donation center with it.

Getting it out of the home was only part of that job. This piano had another stop to make, and we were glad to handle the trip.

Hoping to donate yours? Tell us when you get in touch. We’ll discuss whether donation is an option and confirm acceptance before arranging delivery. This completed donation is not a guarantee that every piano will be accepted.

How our piano removal service works

01 / Show us the piano.

Send a full photo, your city or ZIP code, and pictures of the route out. Mention stairs and tight turns. No need to move the piano for its close-up.

02 / Know the plan and price.

We’ll explain the removal and what’s included. Some jobs need an in-person look before the quote is confirmed. You approve the price before work begins.

03 / Leave the lifting to us.

Our crew handles the agreed removal, loading, and hauling. You get your space back without having to call in the whole extended family.

How much does piano removal cost?

The only surprise should be how much space you get back.

An upright beside the front door is a different job from a grand piano at the top of a staircase. We handle both—and baby grands and larger pianos, too. The piano’s size and weight, stairs, tight turns, carrying distance, and any other items help us work out the price.

Upfront pricing. No hidden fees. We’ll explain what’s included and agree on the price before starting. If extra work is needed, we discuss it with you and get your approval before adding to the cost.

Photos are a good starting point, not a guessing game you need to solve. Send what you have, and we’ll let you know whether a closer look is needed.

Getting ready for the crew

Set aside sheet music, keepsakes, and anything in the bench that you’re keeping. Clear small items from the route where it is safe to do so, and tell us about stairs, uneven ground, or concerns about the floor.

Leave the piano in place. Do not tip, lift, roll, or dismantle it to prepare for our visit. Keep children and pets away from the work area and let our crew handle the removal plan.

Piano removal questions, answered

Yes. Our project photos show an upright piano removal. Send a full photo of yours and its route out so we can plan the handling and quote the job.

Absolutely. Baby grands, grand pianos, and larger models are all jobs we can handle. The size of the piano and the route out affect the work and the price, especially with stairs or tight turns. Send us a few photos, and we’ll plan the removal and give you a clear quote.

We need to review the access before confirming. Send photos of the staircase, landings, doorways, and any tight turns. Stairs and difficult access can affect the removal method, crew requirements, and price.

Possibly, but donation is not guaranteed. We have delivered a piano to KARM after removal, as pictured above. Any future donation depends on the piano and the recipient accepting it. Tell us your preference when requesting a quote; removal and hauling are still paid services when donation is arranged.

No. Leave it where it is and show us the route out. You don’t have to do the heavy part before the people you hired for the heavy part arrive.

No. This page is for unwanted piano removal and haul-away. Moving a working instrument that you intend to keep is a different request. Tell us that before booking so we can clarify the service; do not assume a removal quote includes specialist piano relocation, tuning, or restoration.

Yes, we can include those items in your quote. Show us what needs to go while we’re planning the pickup, and set aside anything in the bench you want to keep.

Call or text your location, photos, and preferred date. We’ll check availability and the job requirements, then discuss a suitable appointment. Scheduling is confirmed for your particular removal.

Piano removal in Knoxville and nearby communities

We serve Knoxville, Farragut, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Lenoir City, Kingston, Harriman, and nearby communities. Include your city or ZIP code when you contact us so we can confirm service for your location.

Clearing more than one heavy item? Ask about our Knoxville junk removal services and residential junk removal. We can talk through the whole list while preparing your quote.

Give the room a new arrangement.

You’ve decided the piano can go. You don’t have to decide how to get it through the house, onto a truck, and off your to-do list.

Send The JunkFather a few photos. We’ll talk through the removal, explain the price, and handle the lifting when you’re ready. A little family business, a little more room.

Requesting a quote does not commit you to a job.
