Alex and his crew worked their magic and really came through for us. I have a friend recovering from a some health concerns and was not going to be able to return home in the condition it was in. They worked with our budget, and were prompt, friendly and professional. They certainly went above and beyond. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. BIG THANKS to Alex!Posted on Google![]()

Junk Father was one of three places I contacted. They were by far the best priced and easiest to work with. They ask what items were being moved and gave me a quote based on that. Other companies wanted pictures and more details. Alex was great communication and very very fast and moving the things out. I would definitely recommend Alex and his team to anyone who needs furniture or items removed.Posted on Google![]()

Pricing & quotes
Know what the job involves before the first item moves. The quote shouldn’t be the complicated part.
How do I get a junk removal quote?
Call or text 865-855-5865, or send a request through our contact page. A few photos of what you’d like removed, your city or ZIP code, and preferred date are a good start. No exact inventory or truckload calculations needed. We’ll ask any follow-up questions.
How much does junk removal cost?
The price depends on the amount and type of material, heavy items, labor, dismantling or sorting, and disposal needs. A sofa pickup and a full-house cleanout are different jobs. Upfront pricing. No hidden fees. We’ll explain what’s included and agree on the price before starting. Extra paid work needs your approval first.
Can you give me a price from photos?
Photos can help us provide an initial estimate. Some jobs need more information or an on-site look before we can confirm the quote. Show us the items, pile, room, or structure you want removed; you don’t need to rearrange it for a photo session. We’ll make clear when a price is an estimate and when it’s confirmed.
Do you offer free junk or scrap removal?
No. Junk removal and scrap haul-away are paid services. The price covers the crew’s work, hauling, and disposal arrangements. An item’s possible scrap or resale value doesn’t automatically make the pickup free. Tell us what you’ve got, and we’ll give you a straightforward quote.
Does requesting a quote book the job?
No. A quote request starts a conversation, not a commitment. We confirm the work, price, and appointment with you before the job is booked. Ask your questions and decide when you’re ready.
Scheduling & service areas
Tell us where you are and what date you’re working toward. We’ll talk through the appointment, not leave you guessing.
What areas do you serve?
We serve Knoxville and nearby East Tennessee communities, including Farragut, Powell, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Lenoir City, Kingston, Harriman, and Rockwood. Send your city or ZIP code so we can confirm service for your address.
Can you pick up today or tomorrow?
Call or text to check the current schedule. Tell us what needs to go, your location, and your deadline. We’ll confirm the earliest appointment we can offer for your job; same-day or next-day pickup isn’t guaranteed.
How long will the removal take?
It depends on the amount to remove and the work involved. A few household items won’t take the same time as a packed property or a structure that needs dismantling. We’ll discuss the expected timeframe once we’ve reviewed your job. You don’t need to work out the labor hours yourself.
Do I need to be there for the pickup?
Tell us before booking if you won’t be there. We’ll discuss how the items, permission to remove them, price approval, and access will be confirmed. An unattended pickup must be agreed with our crew in advance, rather than assumed when you send a quote request.
What if I need to change my appointment?
Contact us as soon as you know your plans have changed. Give us the name and appointment details, and we’ll discuss the available options. A message lets us coordinate the change with you; a new date still needs confirming.
What we take & getting ready
You choose what goes. Our crew handles the heavy part.
Can you remove just one item?
Yes. We handle single-item pickups as well as larger loads and cleanouts. A sofa, mattress, or one bulky piece you can’t move is worth a call. You don’t have to fill the truck to get our attention.
What kinds of junk can you remove?
Our work includes furniture, mattresses, appliances, boxes, household clutter, yard debris, and renovation materials such as wood and drywall. We also handle larger cleanouts and selected dismantling jobs. Send photos of your list, especially anything unusually heavy or needing special disposal. Explore our residential junk removal and construction debris removal pages for more.
Do I need to move everything outside first?
No. Our crew handles carrying, loading, and haul-away as part of the removal we quote. Leave heavy items in place and identify what can go. You don’t need to do our lifting before the people you hired for the lifting arrive.
How should I prepare for the crew?
Set aside belongings you’re keeping, especially keys, documents, photographs, and valuables. Clearly identify the items approved for removal, and keep children and pets clear of the work area. Tell us about sharp objects, leaking containers, or other hazards ahead of time. Don’t climb unstable piles or structures to prepare or take photos.
Can you take electronics, paint, fuel, or chemicals?
Tell us exactly what you have before scheduling. These items aren’t all handled alike, and some require separate disposal arrangements or may be outside our service. We’ll confirm what we can take and any special disposal charges before the job. Keep chemicals and unidentified containers separate from ordinary junk; don’t empty or mix them to prepare for pickup.
Can I add more items after getting a quote?
Yes, you can ask us to include more. Show us the additional items before they’re loaded so we can confirm that we can take them and explain any change in price. You approve the extra paid work first. Finding another cupboard’s worth of clutter doesn’t have to turn the bill into a surprise.
Cleanouts, sorting & sensitive situations
You’re in charge of what stays. We’re here to help with what goes.
Can you clear a whole house, garage, or storage unit?
Yes. We handle full and partial cleanouts, from selected rooms or a smaller pile to larger household clear-outs. Show us the areas and contents you want included, and tell us what must stay. See our garage cleanouts and estate cleanouts for examples of the work.
Can you help me sort what stays and what goes?
Yes. We can help separate belongings you’re keeping, set aside items for your review, and gather unwanted items for removal. Tell us how much sorting help you need so that time is included in the quote. You make the decisions; we won’t treat an undecided item as permission to throw it away.
Do you handle hoarding cleanouts?
Yes. We handle hoarding cleanouts with respectful communication, sorting help, and debris removal based on the work you approve. You don’t need to have every decision made before contacting us. Tell us about the rooms involved and any known hazards so we can discuss a suitable plan. We’re here to help, not judge.
Does a cleanout include deep cleaning or pest treatment?
No. Our cleanout service is sorting help where included, removal, and haul-away. Deep cleaning, sanitizing, pest treatment, and specialist remediation are not included. We’ll make clear what the removal covers so you can plan any separate cleaning or treatment afterward.
Who needs to approve an estate or rental-property cleanout?
Someone authorized to arrange the work must confirm which belongings can be removed. When several relatives, owners, or representatives are involved, settle the keep-or-remove decisions and choose a main contact before the crew starts. We handle the hauling, not disputes about ownership.
Can you help businesses, churches, or storage-unit customers?
Yes. We can discuss unwanted contents and cleanouts for businesses, churches, property managers, and storage-unit customers. Confirm who can authorize the work and arrange any necessary keys, access codes, facility hours, or loading requirements. Clearing a storage unit doesn’t cancel the rental; handle the move-out and account arrangements with the facility.
Special removals & disposal
Some items need dismantling. Others need a little more planning. Either way, you’ll know what the job includes.
Can you remove my old hot tub?
Yes. We handle unwanted hot tub dismantling, loading, and haul-away. Most tubs we remove need to be cut into manageable sections; some can leave intact. The tub must be drained and its electricity safely disconnected by an appropriate qualified professional before removal. See our hot tub removal service for the details.
Do you disconnect electrical supplies?
No. The JunkFather does not perform electrical work. Any connected supply to a hot tub, shed, or other structure must be safely disconnected by an appropriate qualified professional before demolition or removal. Tell us about connected utilities before scheduling.
Do you remove upright, baby grand, and grand pianos?
Yes. We offer upright, baby grand, grand, and larger piano removals. The piano’s size, stairs, and tight spaces affect the handling plan and quote. Leave it in place and let our crew discuss the removal with you. Our piano removal service is for unwanted instruments and haul-away, not specialist relocation, tuning, or restoration of a piano you plan to keep.
Can you dismantle sheds and old playsets?
Yes. We handle dismantling, loading, and haul-away for unwanted backyard sheds and playsets. Show us the structure and anything else you’d like removed so we can price the whole job. You don’t need to take it apart first. Learn more about our shed demolition and removal.
Are concrete bases, footings, or landscaping included?
Not as part of a standard structure-removal quote. Tell us about concrete bases, ground anchors, or footings and explain what result you’re hoping for. We’ll confirm what can be removed and what will remain. Regrading, new grass, and replacement landscaping are separate from taking away the structure.
Will my items be donated or recycled?
Possibly, but neither is guaranteed for every item. Donation depends on an organization accepting the item, and recycling depends on the materials and available facilities. Tell us your preference when requesting the quote so we can discuss the options before pickup. Removal and hauling remain paid services when donation is arranged; don’t assume a quote includes donation coordination unless we’ve agreed to it.
Still have a question? Ask the crew.
BOB’s a good listener. For an answer, you’ll want the humans.
Call or text 865-855-5865, or use our contact page. Tell us what needs to go and what’s on your mind. We’ll explain the work, the quote, and the next step without making you figure it all out first.
You call the shots. We’ll take care of the hauling.
